The Lost City event was first time multiple camera arrays in the United States provided the data needed to calculate the orbit of a meteoroid and delimit its area of impact. The Smithsonian’s Prairie Meteorite Network was comprised of 16 cameras and operated for ten years, and during that time only Lost City’s descent was documented. A highly sought-after meteorite, this specimen of Lost City features a curved edge of fusion crust.
